The year of hope (DRC Church 2001) focused anew on the poor. Wings of Hope was born. Herewith a person in a crisis and without hope can rise on Wings of Hope. They rediscover hope and receive help.
   
  Wings of Hope do not want to begin a new organization, but rather want to be the link between people in need with churches and organizations who can help them.
   
  The vision of Wings of Hope are:
  1. To rediscover and communicate Christian hope.
  2. To challenge and mobilize volunteers and existing networks and organizations in churches and the community to commit themselves to the vision of Christian hope.
  3. To mobilize a network of volunteers to help where there is need.
  4. Teach them to catch fish (give them hope).
   
  Wings of Hope is the contact to hope with a toll free emergency number.
   
  This one-stop service offers help in case of a crisis or emergency for instance:
  - Pastoral help or counseling
- Trauma counseling
- Personal health advice
- Legal assistance
- Motor assistance
- Map assistance
- Emergency service (Police, Fire, Ambulance, Tow in, etc).
   
  Wings of Hope and CrisisOnCall is partners. CrisisOnCall offers the services of their call centre as well as an infrastructure to Wings of Hope.

Family units can become part of Wings of hope and CrisisOnCall for as little as R30 per month and simultaneously contribute to the funds of Wings of hope.

  Wings of hope are managed by an Advisory Board consisting of different organizations.

Wings of Hope eventually want to build up a more comprehensive database of all organizations who can offer to be of help as well as individuals who are prepared to serve others (pastors, doctors, psychologist, social workers, etc).

Marketing agents are needed countrywide to market the project and enlist members.

We believe that this project will serve to link people in crisis with help. (As for example the telephone switchboard links the incoming call with a specific person).

Wings of hope will be launched officially 15:00 on March 4 at Radio Pulpit, Pretoria.
